DIASPORA 2010 Dance Conference

In an effort to promote our Hellenic culture in the Vancouver area, the Diaspora Hellenic Dance Group of the Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Community of Surrey & Fraser Valley is hosting our first Dance Conference, Diaspora 2010. We invite your dance groups and anyone from your communities that would like to participate in our conference, which will be held from April 30 to May 2 in Surrey, BC. This is a great opportunity for our youth to make new friendships with other Greek Orthodox youth in Canada and to learn more about their Hellenic culture and traditions.

Our instructor for this year will be Rev. Fr. Theodore Paraskevopoulos of the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Winnipeg. He will be presenting dances from the regions of Pella (Macedonia) and Pontos. He is very knowledgeable in those areas, and it promises to be a very exciting and fun conference.
